Deck Maintenance Programs

Mike Allen Construction offers a deck maintenance program that will keep your deck, wood or composite, looking like new for years to come. After the winter storms are done and the snow is melted, Mike Allen Construction will come in the spring and freshen up your deck. First, we check for any structural change, as a deck can have as much as 200 pounds per square foot of weight on it during a heavy winter.

Wood also swells and shrinks depending on the moisture content, so it’s important to tighten any bolts or screws that might have loosened over the winter (this is true for both wood and composite decks). We adjust gates and check for damage from fallen branches, animals, or barbecues. Decks with wood surfaces (typically redwood) are powerwashed and stained.
